The aims of the ASN Network are to:

• Achieve a regional perspective on the planning and delivery of services for older people within the context of relevant Commonwealth and State Government policies
• Promote research (evidence based decision-making) to provide the basis for planning and service delivery
• Identify and advise of service gaps and barriers to effective service provision
• Participate in (and initiate) forums which enhance planning capacity and improve integration and integration and coordination of service delivery
• Promote equitable access to services for special needs populations, including people with disabilities, people from Culturally and Linguistically diverse backgrounds, low income and homeless people
• Promote client focus and participation in service delivery
