Active At All Ages Awards 2009
Hip Hop dancing, skydiving, pistol shooting, not to mention track and field athletics, AFL umpiring, hockey, tennis, sailing and cycling - just a sample of the sports represented amongst nominees for the COTA’s 2009 Active At All Ages Awards.
The Active At All Ages Awards, developed by COTA with support from Sport and Recreation Victoria, recognise and promote the significant achievements and contributions of ‘role models’ who are currently involved and of the clubs, groups and organisations who demonstrate ‘best practice’ in making this possible.
Minister for Sport and Recreation James Merlino joined COTA President Janet Wood to present the 2009 awards at Parliament House on 22 February. Click here to download details of 2009 recipients and other finalists (see also photos below).
Finalists in each of the three categories – individuals, volunteers and club, group or organisation - were chosen from a strong field of nominations from across the state. Individuals and groups from as far afield as Swan Hill and Bairnsdale attended the presentation.
Thank you to VicSport and Sport & Recreation Victoria for assisting in the selection process, and also to the RACV who provided all individual finalists with a $1000 Rebel Sport voucher, and clubs or organisations with a $5000 voucher.
