At Council on the Ageing Victoria, we are changing lives.
Gary, who is in his 50s, had received knock back after knock back. His goal of paid employment seemed out of reach.
After seeing a COTA Victoria advertisement in his local paper, Gary joined the Reach, Train, Employ project (a joint initiative of COTA Victoria, Good Shepherd Australia and New Zealand, and Future Social Services Institute at RMIT University). The project, which has moved online because of the COVID-19 epidemic, is helping older Victorians in Melbourne’s western suburbs get jobs.
I have learned so much. When I get my Certificate III in Aged Care, I will be applying for jobs with my local aged care facilities. There is a huge demand and the certificate will help unlock the door to future employment.

Your donation with help us help older Victorians
We are asking you for your support. Any donation, no matter how small, will help fund activities from fighting ageism to promoting active and healthy lifestyles.
Our programs include:

- Seniors Information Victoria. Our free information line which last year assisted more than 4000 older Victorians connect to services.
- Strength for Life, which helps older Victorians stay active and independent.
- Aged Care System Navigators, which helps Victorians navigate the complex aged care system.
Every day, COTA Victoria is making a difference for older Victorians. By making a donation, you can help us continue our advocacy and extend our reach to older people around Victoria. Donations of $2 and over are tax-deductible.
