2020 Victorian Seniors Festival reimagined

The 2020 Victorian Seniors Festival has been redesigned to get around the restrictions of COVID-19. Without the usual events at Melbourne Town Hall or Federation Square, this year, organisers are bringing the festival direct to you with online performances, Zoom interviews and storytelling. The free travel program that’s part of the festival will be delayed until later in the year.

The festival has already started and will run continuously until the end of October. Visit the Seniors Online website regularly to follow the program. Expect to see a wide range of online activities and events as the program rolls out. Some activities will be broadcast on radio or as podcasts.

As the weather improves and COVID-19 restrictions ease, local councils will also be hosting Seniors Festival activities. To keep track of these, visit your council’s website regularly or contact the Positive Ageing Officer for further information.

COTA Victoria has been an integral partner in the Seniors Festival since it began. Over the coming months we will be developing online activities for you to enjoy, including information sessions, physical activity, quizzes and much more. Keep an eye on the Seniors Festival section of our website for updates.

We’ll be launching our Seniors Festival program on Thursday 23 July with a Zoom Dance Party featuring music from the 1940s. For further information please call 1300 135 090 or email askcota@cotavic.org.au.
