CEO’s message

I start this newsletter by paying my respects to one of our Honorary Life Members, Bob Barron, who passed away in late September. I extend our condolences to Bob’s family and thank Bob for all he did for COTA Victoria. He will be missed.

The COTA Victoria team has pulled together another exciting newsletter for you to enjoy. This month weve been organising ourselves to move offices. Yes, were moving just down the road, to 424 St Kilda Road. When we can meet again this is where it will happen, and were very much looking forward to welcoming you there. This month we go on a tour with OMNI to Spain and Portugal; we indulge in an allyoucaneat exercise buffet; and we offer some hints that may be helpful if youre looking for work.

You may have received your council election pack in the mail. Elections this year will look a little different. Now more than ever we need council leaders who represent the whole for the community. Who actively work towards a safe, inclusive and accessible community for residents of all ages, and who put thought into how our actions affect the environment.

Speaking of elections, the COTA Victoria Annual General Meeting is fast approaching. As usual, we have three directors who are required to step down, all of whom are standing for re-election. Our AGM this year will also look a little different. Since we can’t meet face-to-face, the AGM will be held over Zoom. If you would like to attend and need some help with Zoom, please give us a call.

You may want to grab a cup of tea before you read any further so you can enjoy all the team at COTA Victoria have for you.

We continue to remind our community that you are permitted and it is safe for you to attend your medical appointments  and its important that you do so.

Keep safe.

Is there someone you think might want to know what COTA Victoria is up to and would enjoy COTA Connects? Please feel free to share it with them
