During the Seniors Festival, seniors usually benefit from eight days of free travel. But because last year’s festival was an online event, the free travel week was postponed to March this year.
Victorian Seniors and Carer Card holders can travel for free on Metro and regional public transport across Victoria from Sunday 21 March to Sunday 28 March (inclusive).
Reserve your V/Line tickets
You will need to reserve your economy class seat on V/Line train and some coaches. Call Public Transport Victoria (PTV) on 1800 800 007 to book and note that your tickets must to be collected within 48 hours.
First Class Fee Option
First class tickets have limited availability. If there are some First class seats available when you book, you may like to pay to upgrade to First Class. Ask about this when booking through PTV.
Carry the required cards with you when you travel
Seniors must carry your Seniors myki and Victorian Seniors Cards, and Carers must carry their Carer myki and Carer Cards (‘We Care’ card). Myki fares won’t be charged during the free travel period, but you should touch on and off as usual.
