Older people grab chance to have fun in seniors’ week

The Victorian Seniors Festival is always an exciting time for the COTA Victoria team. We have been listening to older Victorians and hosting a variety of talks and demonstrations.

Our outreach team, program managers and volunteers have been working hard on a range of talks and presentations.

These included an information session about ageing and finance, covering topics like My Aged Care, reverse mortgages, pension loans, debt management and aged care fees.

Mary Harnan from Allsorters presented a talk on The Zen of De-Cluttering, helping people to get their homes under control by identifying what to keep and what to get rid of.

We presented a range of other sessions, including Older Men: New Ideas (OM:NI) men’s discussion groups, the Strength for Life and Everybody has a Story, being a mature writer, tips for bush holidays and memory challenges.

COTA Victoria’s CEO, Tina Hogarth-Clarke, thanked everyone who participated in the Victorian Seniors’ Festival this year.

“It was wonderful to see so many older people embracing the opportunities that come with ageing and preparing for different stages of life. COTA Victoria enjoyed being involved in so many different events and listening to the stories and experiences of older Victorians.
