Older drivers in Victoria have access to information and support to stay safe on the roads.
The VicRoads-funded Safe Driver program is a one-hour road safety awareness presentation for older road users. Offered by community organisations, including local councils, the presentation covers:
- how to keep older drivers safe and mobile
- road rules
- the effects of medication
- strategies for safe mobility.
The four-week Wiser Driver course targets older drivers and is available through many local councils and community organisations. It reviews road rules, road safety, vehicle safety and planning. It aims to keep drivers safe in in old age.
