On World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD), Seniors Rights Victoria (SRV) will be continuing the conversation on ageism. Our afternoon tea event, Stir a Cuppa with Seniors, will be happening at the Melbourne Bowls Club in the Flagstaff Gardens from 2pm. It will also be live-streamed. Gerard Mansour, the Ambassador for the Prevention of Elder Abuse and the Commissioner for Victorian Seniors, will facilitate a panel discussion featuring Dr. Marlene Krasovitsky, Co-Chair and Director of EveryAGE Counts campaign. We’ll release a new brochure on grandparenting and celebrate the contribution that grandparents make.
SRV is also presenting a number of free talks on elder abuse prevention and support, alongside many other organisations that are marking WEAAD with free events. See the events calendar on the elderabuseawarenessday.org.au website to discover WEAAD events happening across Victoria.
