January has been a busy month in the policy space, with submissions to Victorian inquiries into homelessness and road safety, as well as a submission on the Australian Government’s Religious Discrimination Bill 2019.
Through their volunteering, older Victorians make a huge contribution to our society and economy. But there are still barriers that make it hard for some older people to participate. The Victorian Government wants to hear from you about how to help older people engage in meaningful volunteer work.
There’s growing demand for trained workers in Victoria’s disability and aged care sectors. Our innovative Reach, Train, Employ project is helping to meet this need by supporting jobseekers 50 years and over to re-skill and find work in aged care and disability services.
