Connect, create, and celebrate!
Celebrating its forty-third year, the Victorian Seniors Festival returns in October 2025 with a fabulous month-long program full of free or low cost events and activities.
This major state-wide festival is spearheaded by the Victorian Government, and is bolstered by all of Victoria’s 79 local councils alongside community, groups, clubs, and organisations including COTA Victoria and Seniors Rights Victoria.
The Victorian Seniors Festival is held for — and with — older people, and puts the emphasis on fun and good times. This year’s Victorian Seniors Festival theme is “Connect, Create, Celebrate” — and invites older Victorians to come together, discover new interests, and celebrate.

A series of live events are planned throughout October 2025. Mark your calendar for:
- The Victorian Senior of the Year Awards 2025, including the Council on the Ageing (COTA) Victoria Senior Achiever Awards
- Eight days of free public transport for Victorian Seniors Card holders between 5-12 October 2025
- Live, local, and online events throughout Victoria as delivered by COTA Victoria and Seniors Rights Victoria, alongside local councils, community groups, and clubs
- Celebration Day, to be held at Federation Square on 5 October 2025 between 12-7 pm
- The ACMI Seniors Film Festival, held at Federation Square’s ACMI between 6-12 October 2025
- Other flagship events including a Melbourne Town Hall Dance, a country concert tour, a Songs of Judy Garland event for LGBTIQA+, and an aged care tour that runs over October-December 2025.
A full online calendar of events will be available on the Seniors Online website. A print guide will also be available from that time, and can be collected from Coles stores, some libraries, councils, and Neighbourhood Houses.
