Reminiscing Story Cards

Everybody has a story. Is it time to tell yours?

Reminiscing reminds you of all that you’ve seen and achieved. And sharing your story means your children and grandchildren benefit too. That’s why COTA Victoria created Inspiring Life Stories – a service that inspires and supports older people living at home to remember their unique story and share it with loved ones.

We have three services for you to choose from:

Reminiscing Story Cards       $45

This set of 45 beautifully presented photo cards will guide you to remember and reflect on your story – your beginnings, challenges and successes.

You receive:

  • Reminiscing Story Cards

* Estimated delivery time 5 working days for Metropolitan and 10 working days for Regional.

Primary Service

With tools and guidance from COTA Victoria, present and preserve your story in a full-colour, professionally published booklet. This service is for tech-savvy seniors or those who have a family member to help.

You receive:

  • Reminiscing Story Cards
  • Over-the-phone assistance from a trained Storytelling Guide who will help you to enter your story and photos into an electronic template
  • A professionally published colour copy of your story

Premium Service

The premium service is for those who would like more hands-on help to turn their story into a full-colour, professionally published booklet. (Subject to availability of Story Guide)

You receive:

  • Reminiscing Story Cards
  • At least three face-to-face visits from a trained facilitator who will help you to design your story
  • A professionally published colour copy of your story

Stories are around 5,000 words and include 15 photos that you choose. It usually takes about two to three months to prepare a story.

Please have a look at what a completed story looks like. Irma‘s and Robert‘s stories.

Who is COTA Victoria?

COTA Victoria is the leading not-for-profit organisation representing the interests and rights of people aged over 50 in Victoria. Our vision is that ageing in Australia is a time of possibility, opportunity and influence.

We developed Inspiring Life Stories based on research from Swinburne University that showed how reminiscing in a supportive environment can benefit older people and their loved ones. Inspiring Life Stories is a social enterprise, so all profits go back into COTA Victoria’s work with older Victorians.
